Kevin Byrnes is a resident of Yorktown since 2001. He is a charter member and current co-chair of the Yorktown Community Emergency Response Team, a committee member of United for the Troops, and currently serves on the Yorktown Conservation Board. He is active in the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 174 Yorktown Heights, where he previously served as Scoutmaster, and is currently a committee member and merit badge counselor. Kevin was a bagpiper for the former “Yorktown Irish Pipes and Drums” band, and has served as an assistant basketball coach with the Shrub Oak Athletic Club.
Kevin is a retired Detective Sergeant with the New York City Police Department, having served honorably for more than twenty five years, and currently works in Lakeland High School as a monitor. Kevin is happily married and is the proud father of four children, three of which have attended or are currently attending Lakeland Schools. Both of his sons attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and his youngest daughter is currently working towards her Gold Award in the Girl Scouts of the USA.
